Lusaka Resident Magistrate Webster Milumbe has adjourned sentencing of Henry Shula Kasolo to September 10, 2026, to allow the prosecution to produce his previous conviction record.

State Prosecutor Aaron Tuntuluka told the court that Kasolo was not a first offender in the first two offences of trafficking in psychotropic substances and unlawful importation of drugs, having previously been convicted of similar offences.

Mr Tuntuluka, however, told the court that there was no previous conviction record relating to the corrupt-practices charge and applied for an adjournment to present the record.

Kasolo’s defence did not object to the application.

Mr Milumbe then adjourned the matter to September 10 for mitigation and sentencing.

Kasolo was on convicted Monday on three counts of trafficking in psychotropic substances, unlawful importation of drugs and corrupt practices.

He was convicted of trafficking and importing 73.9 kilogrammes of marijuana and offering K60,000 to a Drug Enforcement Commission officer as an inducement or reward for the release of two Thai nationals who were being investigated for drug trafficking.
