ZAMBIA under-20 star Patson Daka on Thursday opened his scoring account for his Austrian side Redbull Salzburg as they coasted to a 3-1 beating of ASK-BSC Bruckin the UNIQ ÖFB Cup.
Daka, who was graduated from the Austrian Redbull Salzburg’s feeder side FC Liefering, got on the scoresheet in extra-time, netting in the 111th minute, three minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Daka connected at the ear post from a corner to kill off any lingering comeback for ASK BSC Bruck, who were then down 2-1, and book his side a berth in the third round of the competition.
The same match also saw another Zambian under-20 upstart Enock Mwepu, who like Daka came from FC Liefering, make his senior team debut.
Mwepu who started on the bench was introduced by coach Marco Rose in the 63rd minute went on to make an assist for Hannes Wolf, who scored Salzburg’s second goal of the game in the 107th minute.
