HANDBALL Association of Zambia (HAZ) general secretary Josab Changa has called on Sports Minister Moses Mawere to speed up the process of appointing the Sports Council of Zambia (SCZ) board.
Changa said there was need for the minister to expedite the process in order to ensure that sports administration was improved.
He said in as much as the minister was making consultations, it was also important for him to realise that the slow pace was crippling a number of sporting activities.
Changa said they had made the plea in the past but that there cries fail on deaf ears as the minister has remained quite.
He said affiliates had voted for their candidates and that what was remaining was for the minister to appoint the chairperson and the remaining members.
Changa said he was optimistic that the minister will heed to calls from various sports affiliates and constitute the board.
“It has been over six months when we held elections and we are just wondering what is going on as there has been no correspondence from the minister,” he said.
He said most affiliates were crippled because they could not lobby for funds since there was no board in place.
