TIMES Printpak Zambia Limited has commended Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) for the introduction of an electronic payment system –payflexi, making it easier for companies to transact.
Payflexi is an enhanced web-based electronic payment solution effectively used in processing of salaries, bulk payments and payment instructions.
Times Printpak managing director Bestone Ng’onga said the company was happy with payflexi because it has made it easier to process salaries of employees across banks in the country.
“We are happy with payflexi system and it has worked very well for the Times of Zambia. We are able to process payments electronically without difficulties. we are happy with the system,” he said.
Mr Ng’onga was speaking when ZANACO managing director visited the Times Printpak stand at the ongoing 91st Agricultural and Commercial Show (ACS) in Lusaka held under the theme ‘Promoting a Green Economy’.
He expressed gratitude to ZANACO for its continued support to the company and urged the bank to reconsider reviving the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that existed previously in order for Times Printpak employees to access loans from the bank.
“We need to revive our relationship were some of our staff can access some funds from your bank to empower them to have shelter. You know if you don’t have shelter in Lusaka you are as good as dead so let us help our staff,” Mr. Ng’onga said.
On the payflexi, ZANACO chief commercial officer Lishala Situmbeko said it was one way the company was going green and was happy that the
Times of Zambia was one of the users of the electronic payment platform.
Payflexi is used for processing salaries for all employees that maintain bank accounts with any commercial banks.
The solution is scalable and able to process high volumes of salary payments across banks in Zambia.
On the MoU, Mr. Situmbeko said it was very workable for the bank to renew its relationship with Times Printpak because it had similar agreements with a number of companies to provide loans to employees.
“That one is very welcoming and it can be done, we are doing it with a number of corporates,” Mr Situmbeko said.
Speaking after he toured Times Printpak stand, ZANACO chief executive officer Henk Mulder said the bank would soon be introducing a mobile application with enhanced features.
Mr Mulder was amused by the rich history of Times Printpak which has been operating from the early 1950s.
“The history is interesting, you have been in operation from 1952 and you still existing today very successful. I have been enjoying reading your newspaper everyday and I am going for the digital one. I want it on my IPad and laptop,” Mr Mulder said.
