CHILD Activist and Zambia’s youngest councilor Buumba Malambo has won the 100 iconic women award.
The award was given to Ms Malambo by the Women Economic Forum – WEF for her good works.
She disclosed that the award becomes her 18th from the time she started her charity organisation known as Buumba Malambo Foundation.
“I have been awarded100 Iconic world’s women creating a better world for all. I am still in awe of God’s power,” she said.
Ms Malambo won the award alongside other powerful women around the world who were committed to change the lives of others.
“This makes me the youngest recipient and first ever Zambian to win this award. I cannot believe that a small spark of passion for the poor would awaken the inner part of Jehovah’s heart. My over 500 sponsored kids are the reason why my favour is protected,” she said.
She thanked all her supporters and urged all Zambians to believe in themselves.
Recently Ms Malambo also won The Voice Award.
The award is dubbed “Outstanding African Motivational award 2017.””
The award is in the African Image Maker category at a ceremony in Netherlands in November.
The same award was won by Dr Kenneth Kaunda in 2012.
