PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has appointed, with immediate effect, former Livingstone Member of Parliament Lawrence Evans as new PF provincial chairperson for Southern Province in a reshuffle involving several positions in the ruling party’s Central Committee.
President Lungu has also appointed former Kantanshi MP, Yamfwa Mukanga as chairperson for elections, taking over from Jean Kapata, the Mandevu MP who becomes the party’s women’s affairs chairperson.
In a statement issued to Sunday Times, PF media director Sunday Chanda also announced that Mrs Estella Phiri who served in Ms Kapata’s new party portfolio had been appointed Commissioner.
Other changes include Munali MP Nkandu Luo taking over from Mr John Phiri as chair for education following his appointment as High Commissioner to Malawi.
Mr Chanda said further changes to positions outside the Central Committee would be announced after the next meeting of the party’s policy-making body on 22nd July, 2017.
The Patriotic Front Secretary General Mr Davies Mwila wished all those assigned new roles the best of success as the party repositioned to continue to provide better and improved service delivery to the people of Zambia.
