THE burial of the late former Zambia Under-23 and Kitwe United team manager Fred Zimba will take place today in Chambishi.
Zimba’s friend and spokesperson Elvis Mwansa said in an interview yesterday that burial will be held after church service at Chambishi United Church of Zambia.
Church service will start at 09:30 hours and later we will proceeded to Chambishi Cemetery for burial.
Zimba, 49 died at Chambishi Clinic on Wednesday morning after a short illness.
He is survived by a wife and two children.
Zimba worked under the late Ben Bamfunchile with the Zambia Under-23 team who won silver at the 1999 All-Africa Games in South Africa.
The late Zimba also served as Kitwe United team manager from 2000 to 2005 where he worked during the reigns of Peter Kaumba, Kenneth Malitoli, Francis Mutembo and Lawrence Mweemba.
Meanwhile, ex-FAZ vice President Emmanuel Munaile and coach George Lwandamina all expressed shock at the news of Zimba’s passing.
“My sincere heartfelt condolences on the untimely death of our dear brother and indeed a friend,”Lwandamina said.
