SENIOR Chief Mushota of the Chishinga people of Kawambwa District has called on the Government to expedite construction works in his chiefdom and connect the area to the national grid.
He lamented that Government had taken long to complete the construction of Pambashe Boarding School, the Kawambwa-Mushota-Luwingu Road and to connect the area to the national grid.
He said if the area was connected to the national grid, more investors would be willing to invest in his area and that this would create jobs for the locals.
The traditional leader called on Government to construct more schools in his chiefdom stating that many children in the area were not going to school because of the long distance to the nearest learning centres.
He, however, thanked the Government for taking development to all parts of the country even in places where the Patriotic Front was not voted for.
“I am happy with the developmental projects taking place in my chiefdom but am just concerned that they have remained an eye-sore for a long time, am calling on Government to expedite the process and ensure that all the projects are complete soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pambashe Member of Parliament Ronald Chitotela promised the traditional ruler that Government was doing everything possible to ensure that all developmental projects were completed as soon as possible.
He said the delay to complete most projects in the country were due to lack of funding.
