LUDWIG Sondashi, founder of the herbal HIV/AIDS medicine, the Sondashi Formula 2000 (SF2000), has released a preliminary report indicating that the first phase of the clinical trial has proven that the drug is safe and tolerable to people.
Dr Sondashi said the trial was undertaken by three people who took three different regimes of the medication.
He said a report was now out which showed that the SF2000 was safe.
“The report is important as it outlines the safety and tolerability parameters measured to conclude the safety of SF2000 in humans while the production of spray dry capsules offers the convenience of taking the SF2000 treatment,” the summary of the results read in part.

SONDASHI

The summary report recommended that blood drug levels to determine if there was any absorption of the SF2000 should be done while the phase two of a clinical trial should be implemented soon.
It said the resource mobilisation for phase two clinical trials should immediately commence.
The summary report was released yesterday at Lusaka’s trial one dissemination meeting.
In a speech read for him by his son Innocent Sondashi, Dr Sondashi said he was sad with the slow pace at which the clinical trial and development was taking place.
Dr Sondashi said it was important that the trials were concluded immediately because the solution was an answer to many poor people that continued to struggle with HIV and AIDS.
He appealed to the Government not to relent in supporting the programme as phase two of the clinical trials which would test the efficacy of the medication commenced.
Dr Sondashi said the Government had shown financial commitment so far and he was hopeful that they would continue to fund the trials despite having many constraints.
