Govt to support women committed to development

THE Government has pledged to support women who are committed to the development of the country.
Ndola District administrative secretary Typhen Mulongo made the call in Ndola yesterday when the Ministry of Gender awarded Joyce Simposhya the Entrepreneur Excellency Award certificate on behalf of Vice President Inonge Wina.
Mr Mulonga said this at a media presentation held at Stars Cape Hotel that Government would continue to support women for their contribution in the country.
He said: “the award received by Ms Simposhya means that Government is indebted to her for the contribution made in Ndola at the time when the economy is bad.”
Ms Simposhya is chief executive officer at Patjoy Security and a member of ZAFAWHIP an NGO that works on economic empowerment.
She was recommended as a life member of the federation and viewed as a motivator of by her organisation.
And Ms Simposhya thanked Government for improving gender equality, tackling gender based violence and early marriages and appealed for support by all Zambians.
“Patjoy security is a company that supports equal employment, the company has over the years employed female security officers, I encourage all business owners to embrace this aspect as you take a new step to make a better change needed in our country,” she said. (See picture on page 8)
