A TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD man in Nakonde has allegedly killed his father after he was advised against using offensive language towards his mother.
Muchinga Commissioner of Police Godwin Phiri said the incident happened on Monday this week after the deceased attempted to defend his wife who was being insulted by his son.
Mr Phiri said the incident happened at Katozi Village in Chief Nawaitwika’s area after the deceased, Dogrich Mutambo, reported the matter to the police that his son, William Mutambo, had assaulted him after being advised not to use offensive language towards his mother.
The deceased died later at Nakonde General Hospital.
Mr Phiri said that William, after being advised against the abusive language, got upset and decided to beat his father, who later sustained cuts on both lips and bruises on the right arm and painful ribs.
He said kicks and fists were used in the act, thereafter a medical form was issued to have the deceased examined and treated but died at the hospital.
The body of the deceased is in the Nakonde Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem, while the suspect has been arrested and charged with murder and will appear in court soon.
