THE Patriotic Front (PF) has commended Zesco for suspending load-shedding for Christmas eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s eve and New Year’s Day.
PF deputy spokesperson Frank Bwalya said the party was commending Zesco because it was aware that the company had suspended load-shedding and was, therefore, importing extra power at great cost.
“We want to highly commend them because we do know that Zesco has managed to do so at a great cost,” Mr Bwalya said.
He said the party was equally commending the Government because they believed that Zesco had managed to provide power at high cost with the help of the Government.
Mr Bwalya said Zesco had recently spent a lot of money on repairs and maintenance, such as the works on the Pensulo line which was affected after it was struck by lightening.
The damage to that line left four and part of another province in the dark until Zesco did repair works at a huge amount of money.
Mr Bwalya also wished the First Family and the Zambian people a wonderful and peaceful festive season.
