EGYPT bound Zesco United midfielder Cletus Chama has hailed the Ndola club for helping him take his football career to a higher level.
In his farewell massage postings on facebook yesterday, Chama thanked the club hierarchy for helping his professional development which blossomed in the two years he was at Zesco.
Chama, who is next month expected to join the Egyptian giants Ittihad Alexandria in a three-and-half-year contract, said he cherished the days he spent at the club.
He said Zesco remained united and that is what will see them through all challenges.
“To Zesco United Football Club management, I would love to thank you sincerely for your support, your love, trust, honesty and professionalism, with all this and many more, I was able to develop and achieve many things as a player.
“Despite all we faced, we remained united and that is the reason we would stand out. I may not have mentioned your names but just know that I am thankful for all you have done in my life and my career,” he said.
During his time at the Ndola based club, Chama helped the team win two MTN/FAZ Super League titles in 2014 and 2015, two Barclays Cup titles in 2014 and 2016, One Community Shield as well as reaching this year’s CAF Champions League semi-finals.
The exciting midfielder’s consistencies in performances on local and international scene saw him handed a first call up to the national team and was the star feature at the CHAN tournament held in Rwanda early this year.
