CELEBRATED Zambian gospel artiste Abel Chungu has taken a swipe at people condemning gospel artiste, Steve Glory, 27, for getting married to a 45-year-old woman.
The award-winning artiste says it is disheartening to see that the decision for two grown up persons to get married should spur such attention and criticism from the public.
According to Abel, there was nothing wrong for fully grown up people to express their love not in secret but in a church and before family and friends in the open to legitimise their marriage.
“Now all of a sudden even the single people are acting like they have written books on marriage and its formula.
He says there was need to stop having this mediocre example of news but instead come up with real news, news like how they met, what made them fall in love, and what challenges have they overcome in their relationship!
“All we read nowadays is negative, immature stories posted by so called news sites with no factual backing,” the posting further read.
Recently, a 27-year-old Zambian gospel musician Steve Glory, set social media alight when he married a woman who is 18 years his senior.
The couple that tied the knot in a civil union in Lusaka recently have set social media on fire with their wedding mostly because of their age difference.
