PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has accorded late former Cabinet minister of Agriculture in the MMD administration Ben Kapita a State funeral.
The late Mr Kapita, 74, died on Friday at St Dominic’s mission Hospital in Bwana Mkubwa in Ndola rural.
The funeral gathering for the late Mr Kapita is being held at Farm number 7, Bwana Mkubwa off the Ndola–Kabwe highway awaiting burial tomorrow.
The Head of State has to that effect declared tomorrow Monday, December 19, 2016 and the day on which the former minister would be buried as a Day of National Mourning in honour of Mr Kapita.
This is according to a statement made available to the Sunday Times of Zambia by the Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska.
The late Mr Kapita was minister of Agriculture in the MMD government under late president Levy Mwanawasa.
Dr Msiska has since advised members of the public to observe Monday as a National mourning period by flying all flags at half-mast and suspend all programmes of entertainment nature on both radio and television in view of the national mourning declaration.
