THE Mukupa Katandula Royal Establishment (MKRE) has said that the re-election of President Edgar Lungu is critical to keeping Zambia on a steady path to development.
Chief Mukupa Katandula XII of the Tabwa-speaking people of Kaputa District in Northern Province said the re-election of President Lungu was based on what the Zambian people had observed in him as someone with the desire to deliver development to the people.
This is contained in a statement released by the MKRE spokesperson Munshimbwe Chitalu on behalf of the chief.
“Mr Lungu’s leadership is critical for national unity, peace and sustainable development as exemplified by countrywide developmental projects he has embarked on, like the construction of the Nchelenge–Kaputa Road to bituminous standards,” he said.
Chief Katandula said the construction of his palace and the development of natural resource-based tourism, fisheries and agriculture, were other examples that showed that Mr Lungu was committed to development.
The traditional leader said the re-election of Mr Lungu would help the Patriotic Front finish all the projects that had been initiated.
He said Mr Lungu’s election would also ensure accelerated economic and social development throughout the country which would subsequently curb poverty.
