FIRST Republican president Kenneth Kaunda has called on all Zambians to maintain peace once the election processes are over.
Dr Kaunda said Zambians should continue loving one another through the Biblical principle of ‘love your neighbour as you love yourself’.
He was speaking at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This is according to a statement issued by first secretary for Press and tourism at the Zambian Embassy in Ethiopia Naomi Chulu.
Dr Kaunda said Zambians should remain peaceful during the post-election period. He also said the future of Zambia was in God’s hands.
Meanwhile, Dr Kaunda shared a light moment with guests and staff of Hilton Hotel who expressed joy and happiness to see him.
Dr Kaunda played a piano and sung pan-African songs of unity, much to the delight of his audience.
The first president made a stopover in Ethiopia on his way to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, where he has been invited to attend a conference together with 30 other former African heads of State to discuss the future of Africa.
