THE Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) is in the process of putting up Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) across the country to make it convenient for clients who want to withdraw money at the multiple locations.
ZNBS public relations officer Chanda Mubanga said the institution would soon introduce its own ATMs following the introduction of ATM cards.
Mr Mubanga said this would enable the clients to access banking services at their own time anywhere.
He said this in an interview at the on-going 90th Agricultural and Commercial Show in Lusaka, which is being held under the theme ‘Managing Environment for growth’.
“Following the introduction of ATM cards, we also plan to roll out our ATM machines across the country to serve our customers better.
“We have received many requests from our clients, and I must say that plans are almost complete,” Mr Mubanga said.
He said ZNBS was also in the process of migrating from an internally developed banking system to a core banking system that would be able to offer electronic banking products.
Mr Mubanga said this would mean that clients would be able to download the application on their phones, go on the internet and be able to transact from the comfort of their homes.
He said this step would also enable ZNBS to be competitive with other commercial banks which were already offering e-products.
“We want to position ourselves to be able to meet the needs of our clients, so we are in the process of migrating from an internally developed banking system to a core banking system that will be able to help us offer e-products,” he said.
