Zanaco 4 Tigers 0
MIDFIELDER Saith Sakala netted a hat-trick as Zanaco thrashed Lusaka Tigers in a Week 19 clash yesterday to go 11 points clear at the summit of the MTN-FAZ Super League table.
Zanaco lead the log with 46 points followed by Nkana with Power Dynamos in third position on 34 points while champions Zesco United and Green Buffaloes are tied on 33 points.
Sakala opened the scoring in 27 minutes when he unleashed a thunderbolt inside the box from a Salulani Phiri cross before the attacking midfielder registered his brace in the 39th minute after finishing off a Isaac Chansa rebound which the Tigers defence failed to properly deal with.
Aubrey Funga’s goal was ruled for offside by Kapiri Mposhi referee Jan Sikazwe in the 64th minute before Sakala was denied a hat-trick after his attempt for offside after connecting a Ernest Mbewe pass.
Fashion Sakala made it 3-0 with a well taken shot after an interchange of passes with Mbewe and Chansa and Sakala finally got his hat-trick in the 90th minute after finishing a Chansa pass.
Arrows 1 Lumwana 0
In the late kickoff played at the same venue, former champions Red Arrows scrapped past Lumwana Radiants to move into eighth on the table with 26 points, reports GODFREY DUBE.
Festus Mbewe scored the only goal of the match after he headed in a Stanley Nshimbi cross in the 39th minute and could have doubled the advantage except that his shot went wide at goal a minute later. Lumwana are on 18 points.
