A MAN of Chipata Township in Lusaka has been burnt beyond recognition in unexplained circumstances.
Police yesterday received reports from members of the public in the area saying that there was a burnt body in the township.
Lusaka Province Police chief Nelson Phiri said the officers picked up the body yesterday around 05:00 hours.
“I can confirm that following reports from members of the public, we have picked up a body in Chipata Township that was burnt beyond recognition,” Mr Phiri said.
Mr Phiri said police were yet to establish what transpired.
He called upon members of the public with information over the matter to report to the nearest police station.
Mr Phiri said Police were having a challenge in investigating the matter as members of the public were not willing to provide information.
The body has been taken to the University Teaching Hospital mortuary.
