COPPERBELT Patriotic Front (PF) secretary Binwell Mpundu has appealed to Zambians to vote for President Edgar Lungu and all PF candidates to allow them to complete the various development projects.
Mr Mpundu said yesterday that people should not to allow power-hungry politicians to mislead them.
He said Mr Lungu and his team deserved a term of their own, adding that the Head of State had shown that he was capable of continuing to unite the nation which was key to the country’s development.
Speaking in Mufulira’s Kankoyo Constituency in Mufulira during a rally to drum up support for Brian Mushimbe, who is contesting the parliamentarian seat, and Gift Mushinge for the mayoral office, Mr Mpundu said it was clear that the ruling party could still be trusted going by the numerous projects recorded.
He further said Zambians had a duty to scrutinise the leaders and not to choose for the sake of it.
He said some leaders were only interested in getting into power to fulfill their own agenda.
Mr Mpundu said under the leadership of Mr Lungu, Zambia had seen the construction of schools, hospitals, universities, roads and other infrastructure in various parts of the country.
Speaking earlier, PF Mufulira District chairperson Dominic Mwale challenged women to rise and support President Lungu who had continued to recognise them by appointing them to various decision-making positions.
He said some politicians would be taught a lesson after the August 11 polls, and described Mufulira as stronghold for the PF.
