LUSAKA Central constituency Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Margaret Mwanakatwe has promised to campaign vigorously for President Edgar Lungu to ensure that all the people in the area vote for him in the August 11 elections.
Ms Mwanakatwe said the people of Lusaka Central would vote for the President, because they had seen how much the PF had achieved in the past four years.
She said the development programmes which the PF had initiated had enhanced industrialisation in the country, which was allowing the Government to create job opportunities for the youth.
“The people of Zambia must give President Lungu a chance to give this nation the much-needed development not only in infrastructure but also in our approach to issues,” Ms Mwanakatwe said in a statement yesterday.
She said President Lungu had demonstrated willingness to commit himself to transforming the country into a favourable investment destination.
Ms Mwanakatwe said the PF Government had won the people’s support in Lusaka because it had constructed inner roads which had since reduced congestion in many parts of the city.
She said Lusaka residents had appreciated the commendable road infrastructural works which the Government had undertaken.
“I will use our achievements so far to ensure the PF wins the elections. If I am elected, among other initiatives, I intend to enhance garbage collection, improve water and sanitation and curb high crime rates in Lusaka Central,” Ms Mwanakatwe said.
