THE Netball Association of Zambia (NAZ) has unveiled its 14-member final squad to compete at the World Youth qualifiers in Botswana.
NAZ general secretary Pritchard Ngoma, who released the names in Lusaka yesterday, said the association had confidence in the coaches and that they had picked a good side to qualify for the finals.
Ngoma said the team will go to the championship with the aim of getting qualification because they have had training and the best players were picked.
“I think the coaches have picked a strong side that will qualify us to the World Cup, as NAZ we expect the players to put in their best during the competition as this will help us build capacity in the youth at all levels,” Ngoma said.
Coach Lydia Nanyangwe declared the players ready for the tournament and was confident that the team will qualify at the next year’s World Cup.
Nanyangwe said the players selected were capable of winning the tournament as the team had gone through intensive training ahead of the championship.
“The girls are ready for the competition, we have been training for quiet sometime now, and they have gained enough training that will enable them win the tournament and qualify to the World Cup finals next year,” she said.
