FORMER United Party for National Development (UPND) Kalomo Central Member of Parliament (MP) Request Muntanga, 64, has died.
He died at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) around 14: 30 hours yesterday where he had gone for review after an illness.
Mr Muntanga, who was UPND’s national party mobilisation chairperson, was recently left out in the adoption process to recontest his seat ahead of general elections.
UPND deputy spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo confirmed Mr Muntanga’s death on behalf of the party which he said came as a shock.
UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema expressed shock at the death of Mr Muntanga whom he described as a prolific debater who defied all manner of intimidation to ensure that party members campaigned in a peaceful environment.
