By SANDRA MWILA and ADRIAN MWANZA –
MIDFIELDER Clifford Mulenga is on the verge of sealing a move with South African Absa Premier Soccer League side Cape Town, formerly known as Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Mulenga has been training with Cape Town since the beginning of the week with head coach Erick Tinkler seemingly interested in signing the former Zambian star.
“Clifford is currently attending trails at Cape Town and has been training with the team since Monday. Coach Tinkler seems interested in the Zambian midfielder and is keen on signing him on ahead of the 2016-2017 season,” sources close to the deal disclosed.
Mulenga returned to the Zambian league last year but only lasted three months after failing to impress at Zesco United and went back to his former club SuperSport United as he searched for a new club.
Meanwhile, Green Buffaloes midfielder Allan Mukuka has returned to re-join the army outfit after a one year stint with South African Premier Soccer League side, Amazulu.
Buffaloes chairperson Andrew Siame said Mukuka is training with the club after the loan deal ended on June 30 with Amazulu not indicating whether they still needed the players’ services.
Siame said the return of Mukuka would beef up the squad because he was a good midfielder and will add value to the club.
And Kickoff reports that Bloemfontein Celtic are still in the market for attacking reinforcements and have identified Mamelodi Sundowns  striker Cuthbert Malajila and free agent Collins Mbesuma as targets.
“The club is now looking at Mbesuma and also looking at Cuthbert Malajila.  Sundowns don’t want to release Malajila but they want Morena. Why then should the club release Morena,” a source tells KickOff.com.
Mbesuma is currently clubless after John Comitis decided against taking him to his new club Cape Town City. The source adds that signing a free agent isn’t as easy as it seems.
