FORMER National Paralympics Committee (NPC) vice-president George Gondwe is scouting for K30, 000 to enable him to travel to Brazil where he will be presented with a recognition award during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Gondwe has been invited by the Lay Witness for Christ International, a Christian organisation based in the United Kingdom.
He got nominated for the award due to his involvement in Paralympics Sports and will receive the award from the organisation under the Chaplain to the World’s Olympian programme.
Gondwe has been told to meet his travel expanses to and from Brazil with the award presentation set for August 17 to be done by Olympian of the century, Carl Lewis.
Gondwe said he would be grateful to those that would help him meet his return air ticket and that it was an opportunity he would not want to miss.
“I am just asking for help from well-wishers to help me raise money for my air ticket for this is an opportunity for me.
“As a disabled person I cannot afford to miss, your help will be highly appreciated,” Gondwe said.
