UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has reiterated that he would improve people’s living standards if he was elected into office on August 11, this year.
Mr Hichilema said the UPND would ensure it implemented its 10-point plan of action which would result in improved living standards for the Zambians.
He said this at a public rally in Lusaka’s Bauleni Township on Thursday.
“When we come in government we shall make sure that all of you the people have enough food in your homes,” Mr Hichilema said.
He said the UPND was the only opposition party which had the capacity to unseat the ruling party in the general elections.
Mr Hichilema said his party had nationwide appeal going by the people from various regions that had opted to join the UPND recently.
Lusaka Central aspiring candidate Charlotte Scott implored the people in the constituency to vote for her because she would clear garbage and ensure the area was developed under her leadership.
Former Lusaka Province minister Obvious Maliteta urged the people to vote for UPND candidates in the elections for sustained national development.
