THE Zambia Women football team warmed up for the February 14 CAF 2014 Africa Women Championship qualifier match against Tanzania with a resounding 9-0 thrashing of a Lusaka Select side in a match played yesterday.
Team manager Besa Chibwe said the win was good for the team ahead of their first leg clash against Tanzania to be played on Friday at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka with the return fixture set for two weeks later.
Chibwe said the team was shaping up well for the qualifiers and was happy that no injuries were recorded from the 9-0 win friendly match played at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC).
“The team is doing fine, morale is high in camp and everyone is looking forward to the match. We shall not let this friendly get to their heads but will ensure they remain focussed on training for us to win the match,” she said.
