THREE FAZ Division One Zone Two sides, Indeni, Kalulushi Modern Stars and Kansanshi Dynamos have fired their head coaches.
Indeni coach Fred Siame, Kalulushi trainer William Nkonde and Kansanshi coach George Kapembwa have been shown exit doors due to the respective club poor performances.
In Indeni’s case, the club sacked Siame along with his assistant coach Luka Mulenga. Indeni are currently on 10th position with 10 points having picked up two wins, four draws and three defeats after week nine games.
Siame confirmed termination of his contract and thanked the executive committee for giving him an opportunity to coach the club.
He, however, bemoaned the club’s decision as it was too early especially in the season.
“My contract was terminated and I would like to thank the club for giving me an opportunity to coach the club. My contract was terminated seven games into the season and that happens everywhere and as things stand, it is water under the bridge now, and I can only wish the team all the best of luck,” he said.
Indeni secretary Stephen Sinyinza said the club has already started talking to possible replacements.
Kalulushi dismissed Nkonde, who nearly made them promoted to the Super Division last season and replaced by his assistant Raphael Ntalasha.
But club secretary Joe Silwamba said the coach has been suspended for wrong doings and that investigations have commenced.
“We have not fired the coach. The correct position of the club is that the coach is on suspension until some issues raised against him are dealt with accordingly,” he said.
Kalulushi, just like Indeni, have 10 points but are on 11th position on the log with one win, seven draws and one defeat.
Meanwhile, Kansanshi fired Kapembwa and his assistant Mweshi Mupeta with a club statement stating that the two left the club on mutual grounds.
“We regret to inform all stakeholders that the club has parted company with the head coach George Kapembwa and his assistant Mweshi Mupeta on mutual grounds. The club wishes both coaches all the best in all their future endeavours,” the statement read.
Kansanshi have since appointed David Salopi and Kelvin Sichinga as head coach and assistant respectively in an interim capacity.
