By SANDRA MWILA –

‘MIGHTY’ Mufulira Wanderers have opted to take Egyptian coach Ahmed Suleiman as technical adviser, after they desperately failed to get him as trainer of the legendary side.
In the meantime, Mufulira Wanderers are talking to various coaches including back-on-the-market Dan Kabwe.
This is because Suleiman has varying qualifications from what the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and the Zambia Football Coaches Association (ZAFCA) have set as the barest minimum to coach a premier division side.
Sources at Wanderers revealed to the Times yesterday that registration of Suleiman as club technical adviser was ongoing.
The source said Mufulira Wanderers would still ensure that Suleiman obtains a CAF B licence that was required by sending him to school to enable him coach the team in the long run.
This will take about three years to get the CAF B licence.
“The Egyptian coach will be taking up the role of technical adviser  at the club but will still be taken to school to ensure that he obtains the CAF B licence FAZ keeps talking about.
“In the long run, he will coach Mighty because he is a high profile coach,” the sources said.
Meanwhile, Wanderers are still searching for a coach after their target Tenant Chilumba signed with Napsa Stars.
Sources said the club was in talks with Kabwe who has expressed interest in drilling the Mopani-sponsored side.
Former Forest coach Kaunda Simonda is also on Wanderers’ cards as they are still assessing who will be their best option.
