THE Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) has stated that none of the banned Kitwe Playing Fields (KPF) players have filed any appeal.
ZRU general secretary Francis Chitambo said none of the three players have filed any official documentation to the Union’s appeals committee.
“The Union has not received any appeal from the banned players,” Chitambo said.
Benaya Mukwamba and Patson Kasonde have been banned for 10 years while Fine Chikumbe was banned for eight years.
Mukwamba said in the media recently that he would consider appealing the ban.
This is after they allegedly attached referee Joseph Ingwe on April 23 in KPF’s 6-3 Kitwe derby home loss to ‘Men At Work’ Diggers.
KPF treasurer Jeremiah Manda was fined K1,500 for his role in the incident.
