LUSAKA Mayor George Nyendwa has challenged FAZ Division One side, Lusaka City Council (LCC) to be result oriented in a bid to attract more sponsorship from the local authority.
Nyendwa said the council had no problems in ensuring that LCC, who face promoted Happy Hearts Academy in the opening match, had adequate sponsorship but as long as the team produced desired results.
“Firstly, sponsorship is a boost to motivate the performance of both the players and the technical bench, and this shows that there is a big responsibility to deliver results,” he said.
He said the players needed to put in their best and get promotion into the FAZ Super Division adding that doing so would act as a platform for players to realise their full potential.
Nyendwa, who is also LCC patron, said the council was also working at giving the dilapidated Nationalist Stadium a facelift to encourage the players to do better and seek promotion.
