A THIRTY-FIVE–YEAR–OLD man in Mufulira has been murdered by his brother and nephew after a quarrel.
The man was murdered around 12.00 hours on Tuesday in Butondo Township.
Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga confirmed the incident yesterday in an interview.
She said the incident happened after the three differed.
Ms Katanga identified the deceased as Kabobe Bwalya, 35, a suspected mental patient of Muyu farming bloc which is within Butondo Township.
She also identified the suspects as Christopher Bwalya 20 (brother) and James Kabonda, 18 (nephew) all of Butondo.
“The man was murdered by his brother and nephew after they had an altercation and he attempted to burn their grass thatched house,” she said.
Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy of Chingola was hit by a vehicle that was being driven by a white man on Saturday.
Ms Katanga said the boy was hit after he tried to cross the road.
“I can confirm that the boy was hit while he was crossing the road but, fortunately, he did not die,” she said.
The incident happened on Saturday around 08:30 hours in Misenga area along the Kitwe Road.
She identified the driver as Fawcett John 54, who was driving a Toyota Hilux registration number AID 9178.
