ALLIANCE Motors Zambia has come to Zambia Motor Sports Association (ZMSA)’s aid with a sponsorship of K60,000 towards hosting the second national motor rally championship slated for next weekend.
The company will give ZMSA K45,000 cash and K15,000 in form of the material and services that go with staging of the event.
Company marketing manager Dana Jangulo announced the sponsorship during a press briefing atHotel Inter-continental in Lusaka on Thursday evening.
Jangulo said Alliance Motors would continue supporting motorsport as a way of giving back to the community and also as one way of making sure that the sport grew in Zambia.
ZMSA vice-president Sam Ching’ambu said the association was grateful to Alliance Motors for its unweathering support to the sport.
Ching’ambu said ZMSA would strive to stage a top-class championship that would meet international standards.
He said the association was also working closely with the Road Transport and Safety Agency in ensuring a safe event.
Clerk of the course, Paul Monge said the rally, a test run for this year’s Zambia International Rally, was set for Barn Motel in Chongwe.
So far, 24 drivers have confirmed participation in the two-day event,including Jassy Singh who missed the first championship.
