BANC ABC has increased its sponsorship to Green Buffaloes, this time unveiling a K550, 000 deal for 2016, an increase of 33 per cent from last year’s sponsorship.
Last year, Banc ABC gave Green Buffaloes K400,000 to get the shirt sponsors tag.
The sponsorship deal is broken down in sports kit worth K450,000 and fuel allowance allocation of K100,000 which will go under Banc ABC latest product, the Puma Fuel Card.
The bank which has sponsored the Buffaloes for three years now also commended the club for a good 2015 season performance which saw them finish fourth on the league log.
Speaking at the sponsorship unveiling ceremony, Banc ABC managing director Clergy Simatyaba further challenged the club to win the league this season and also add the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield.
Simatyaba said during the handover ceremony at Arakan Barracks yesterday that the performance and growth of the team means a lot to the bank.
Simatyaba also commended Captain Christopher Katongo’s performance adding that his inclusion was an inspiration to the team which went on to finish strongly.
And the Bank’s Board Chairperson Chanda Chileshe said the bank has been encouraged by the good performance of the team in the 2015 season which was epitomised by winning the 2015 Barclays Cup.
And Zambia Army Deputy Commander Major-General Topply Lubaya commended Banc ABC for the gesture rendered to the club adding that their contribution would go a long way.
Lubaya said the Command will stand firm to ensure that the team delivers on the pitch and has since challenged the team to get the league title at all costs.
He said that the Charity Shield was a starting point and also challenged the team to fight the whole year.
Lubaya also directed that all Green Buffaloes business accounts should be taken to Banc ABC without fail to show support to the bank.
And GBFC chairperson Colonel Andrew Siame said the team was ready to win the 2016 season especially with the acquisition of new players and assessment of all the players during the off season training in Mongu.
