ANOTHER player transfer saga is brewing and this time between the ‘Elite Lusaka Dynamos and a familiar name in Power Dynamos over Under-20 striker Conlyde Luchanga.
While it was announced on New Year’s day that Luchanga would join Power Dynamos on a two-year long contract after the two clubs agreed on the transfer, news emerging states that Lusaka Dynamos are calling back Luchanga from Power Dynamos and nothing had been signed yet.
Luchanga has since been given a three-day ultimatum by his club to leave Arthur Davies Stadium and return to the Capital City and resume training with Lusaka Dynamos.
Sources said yesterday that Luchanga left for Kitwe prematurely and that there was no binding contract between the two clubs.
The source said a new sponsor had come on board at Lusaka Dynamos which demanded that no player gets released as it was ready to match the personal terms.
Lusaka Dynamos have to that effect ordered Luchanga’s Manager Keith Mweemba to ensure that the player leaves Power with immediate effect.
“Power has not done anything in terms of finalising the signing of Luchanga and there is nothing legally binding them to hold on to Luchanga. The issues of Luchanga going on loan to Power were just in the media but the clubs did not conclude.
“Lusaka Dynamos seem to have new sponsors on board whose policy is not to release any player to other clubs,” the source said.
He said Power Dynamos have been informed on the need to release Luchanga though their response to the matter is asking the Lusaka side to put the request in writing.
Both Lusaka Dynamos chairperson Mofya Chisala and Power Dynamos Secretary Ricky Mamfunda refused to talk on the matter.
Meanwhile sources close to the player revealed in a separate interview those Power Dynamos are not ready to release Luchanga.
This is despite the player being told that Lusaka Dynamos will now offer him more than he was getting at Arthur Davies.
This new twist in the tale has disturbed Luchanga who believed the loan had been formalised.
“With the new sponsors on board, Luchanga is being offered more at Dynamos than at Power but he still wants to be at Power.
“The boy is confused, he doesn’t even know what to do because he keeps getting calls from Lusaka Dynamos superiors including Hanif Adams and his manager Mweemba telling him to return to Lusaka,” he said.
