OUTGOING Central Province Permanent Secretary (PS) Edwidge Mutale has advised her successor Daisy Ng’ambi to ensure that civil servants did not get involved in partisan politics.
Ms Mutale said public workers who engaged in politics ahead of his year’s tripartite elections should be sacked to avoid infiltration of the civil service.
The Ms Mutale who has swapped with Ms Ng’ambi at the Ministry of Gender was speaking when she officially introduced the incoming Central Province permanent secretary to civil servants in Kabwe yesterday.
Ms Mutale also advised Ms Ng’ambi to be wary of lazy employees who took pleasure in gossip at the expense of working.
She said it was sad that some people were busy praising themselves in front of bosses and spoke ill about others, a situation which stalled progress in Government programmes.
She noted that she had managed to stay in her position as a permanent secretary for 19 months because of discipline and tolerance as well as focus in the execution of duties.
Ms Ng’ambi said she was ready to combine the gender influence and use it in her new position to serve the people of Central Province and the country at large.
