PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Secretary General, Davies Chama has described Democratic Party (DF) leader Miles Sampa’s decision to leave the ruling party as an indication of being ungrateful to the late President Michael Sata’s dream.
Mr Chama speaking at a rally yesterday in Lusaka’s Matero constituency said the party was however, ready to meet him in this year’s general elections and told the electorate not to be swayed by Mr Sampa whom he said was a ‘baby’ in politics.
The PF secretary general has since warned Mr Sampa to desist from destabilising party structures and that he would be arrested in an event that he grabbed any property in the constituency.
“He should not blame anyone if the Police apprehend him for grabbing the stadium, we are aware but for now we shall warn him so that he will not blame anyone for his unacceptable acts,” he said.
He said he had traveled across the country where people have endorsed Mr Edgar Lungu as the preferred candidate in this year’s general elections due to his quality leadership.
Mr Chama said Mr Sampa was not yet mature in politics and was being cheated by few individuals who just want to see him finished, saying he (Sampa) was on record as saying he would only leave the party once dead.
“We want to respect Mr Sata’s wish and we shall continue with Mr Lungu, those departing from his party just want to cause divisions and you people should not tolerate such people,” he said.
Mr Lungu wanted to bring the county together and had embraced Mr Sampa when he almost left the party, an indication that he was a man who loved peace in the party.
“I want to challenge the media to replay a Press briefing where Mr Sampa vowed not to leave the party when he pleaded to have a word with me after rumour went round that he was leaving the party, now that he has left, let people know that he cannot be trusted,” Mr Chama said.
