PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Lusaka Province youth chairperson Kennedy Kamba has warned that the ruling party will not shield any of its members engaged in illegal land allocation.
Mr Kamba said in an interview that the PF respected the rule of law and thus did not condone anyone abrogating the law on land matters, among others.
He, therefore, appealed to the Police to arrest illegal land perpetrators regardless of political affiliation and that in an event that PF cadres were involved; they should face the wrath of the law
like anybody else should.
Mr Kamba’s remarks come in the wake of continued reports of illegal land allocation in Lusaka, with PF cadres accused of being among the perpetrators. Other parts of the country have been grappling with
similar concerns.
“We have advised our members to follow the laid down procedures. The acquisition of land is through the council or the Ministry of Lands.
“So those people who are doing that (illegal land allocation), the Police should move in and arrest them, we are not shielding them. If there are people who are encroaching on other people’s land, the Police are there,” he said.
Mr Kamba reiterated that those illegally allocating land were not PF members but merely masquerading as such.
