ZAMBIAN Breweries, sponsors of the Zambian Music Awards (ZMA), this year intend to revamp the flagship event into the Mosi Day of Thunder extravaganza of music, entertainment and culture.
The all-day Mosi Day of Thunder experience, which is expected to be held in Livingstone towards the end of April, will showcase Zambia’s best musicians and performers, while retaining the popular awards ceremony on the previous evening.
“The Mosi Day of Thunder will focus more on the performances as the focal point of the celebration, championing the amazing talent we have in this country while sharing that with as many people as possible,” said Zambian Breweries marketing director Thomas Kamphuis.
The Mosi Day of Thunder will be bigger and better than ever before, and give more fans the opportunity to see their favourite stars perform live.
Details of the new-look event are being finalised with support from the National Arts Council (NAC) and information of award nominees, show line-up, how to vote and other plans for the event will be availed over the coming weeks.
However, progress can be followed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MosiTrulyZambian and www.facebook.com/zambianmusicawards.
Last year’s winners included Chef 187, who won four awards and Abel Chungu, capturing three accolades.
This is according to a statement from Langmead & Barker Limited.
