THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Ndola has refuted claims that the entire Kabushi Constituency executive has resigned and joined the opposition Democratic Front (DF).
Former Kabushi Constituency chairperson Joseph Chipanzawe alleged in The Post newspaper yesterday that almost the entire PF Kabushi executive had defected to DF.
Mr Chipanzawe is now Ndola District DF chairperson, a party that was last week launched by Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa.
But Ndola District PF chairperson George Chisulo said during a Press briefing at his office yesterday that the party in Kabushi Constituency was intact.
Mr Chisulo said Mr Chipanzawe’s remarks were aimed at tarnishing the image of the party.
“We are very disappointed that Mr Chipanzawe can go to that extent peddling lies to the Press about the party he no longer belongs to. You can see for yourself that all the executive members from Kabushi Constituency are here,” Mr Chisulo said.
He, however, warned Mr Chimpanzawe to desist from making remarks that were putting the name of the party into disrepute.
Kabushi Constituency chairperson Willbroad Chileshe said that all the wards and branches in his constituency were unbroken.
Mr Chileshe said none of the members had defected to DF, saying Mr Chipanzawe’s remarks were lies while youth chairperson Fabian Mwansa said none of the PF youths in Kabushi had defected to DF.
Kabushi Constituency Women vice-chairperson Rabecca Kapatamoyo said her executive was intact and that the party was currently touring the constituency.
She said Mr Chipanzawe was looking for leadership and he was moving from one party to another.
“Mr Chipanzawe defected from PF to UPND after the people of Kabushi voted against him. He then defected to the Rainbow Party. We are shocked to hear he is now with DF. We are urging Mr Sampa to be very careful with him,” she said.
Ms Kapatamoyo said Mr Chipanzawe was just after positions and that was the reason he had been jumping from one party to the other.
