THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded investigations into illegal land allocation in Livingstone and the case has since been forwarded to the National Prosecutions Authority (NPA).
ACC public relations manager Timothy Moono said in response to a Press query that investigations into the Livingstone local authority had been concluded.
“I wish to confirm that the Anti-Corruption Commission is carrying out investigations in some named councils. The Commission has concluded investigations regarding the irregular allocation of land at the Livingstone City Council,” he said.
Mr Moono said investigations regarding Ndola and Kitwe City councils were going on and the matters would soon be concluded.
Meanwhile, police have warned and cautioned suspended Kitwe Mayor Kelvin Sinyangwe in connection with the illegal sale of land.
Mr Sinyangwe was cautioned and warned on Monday at Kitwe District Police Headquarters.
Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga could neither confirm nor deny, saying that she was yet to be briefed.
Earlier this month, Local Government and Housing Minister Stephen Kampyongo suspended the Ndola, Livingstone and Kitwe City councils after he discovered that there were rampant illegal land allocations in the three districts.
Mr Kampyongo suspended the councils after a tour of all districts on the Copperbelt where he personally saw the extent of illegal land allocations in Ndola and Kitwe.
