MWILA –
STRIKER Winston Kalengo made a scoring debut as AC Leopards thumped Kimbonguila Kinkala 3-0 in the Congo Premier League.
Kalengo, who was signed from Zesco United on a one year deal after scoring 18 goals in the MTN-FAZ Super League, played 90 minutes for his new Congo Brazzaville club which sits fourth on the log.
Fourth placed Leopards have eight points from four games played and are four points behind leaders Diables Noirs, who are tied on 12 points with CARA while La Mancha is third on 10 points.
Meanwhile, defender Hichani Himonde has joined MTN-FAZ Super League club Nkwazi on a one year deal.
Himoonde ,who has been training with Nkwazi since November last year, was finally cleared by his South African side Mamelodi Sundowns and is currently with the ‘Policemen’ who are shaping up for the new season in Livingstone.
Nkwazi secretary Adrian Kashala confirmed the player’s move in an interview from Livingstone yesterday and expressed happiness that all contract details have been finalised.
“All that is remaining is for him to put his signature. We were just waiting for him to establish his status at Sundowns. He is with the team here in Livingstone for pre-season training, we have just not had time but probably today (yesterday) he will sign,” he said.
Himoonde struggled for first team place at Sundowns since joining them in 2014 from TP Mazembe and was last called to the national team during the friendly match against Japan in May, 2014.
