TWO security guards at Mkushi High School in Central Province have been killed after criminals staged a robbery at dawn yesterday.
Chanda Kalumbi and Boyd Mambwe were guarding the school when a group of criminals raided the institution between 02:00 and 03:00 hours yesterday before beating them to death.
Central Province Police Commissioner Lombe Kamukoshi, who confirmed the robbery, said the victims sustained serious head injuries.
“They ransacked the five offices at the school as they were looking for cash and went away with a laptop valued at K3,800,” she said.
Ms Kamukoshi said the bodies of the two were in the Kabwe Hospital mortuary while police had launched a manhunt for the criminals.
