INSTITUTIONS of higher learning have been challenged to come up with tangible business concept courses if more Zambians are to acquire entrepreneurship skills.
Higher Education Minister Michael Kaingu said the formulation of business concepts was cardinal in empowering learners to become vibrant Zambian entrepreneurs.
Dr Kaingu said lack of good business plans was among major reasons hindering some entrepreneurs to acquire financial support to grow their projects.
“We want to see more trades training to initiate tangible empowerment schemes like business concepts to empower learners with entrepreneurship skills,” he said.
He was speaking on Monday when he addressed lecturers and some students at Choma Trades Training Institute (CTTI) and Kasiya Secretarial and Business College in Pemba District during separate tours of the institutions.
The minister attributed the failure by some Zambian contractors to grow their businesses and complete infrastructural projects to lack of managerial skills.
