THE Private Sector Development Association (PSDA) has said inclusion of the dual citizenship clause in the constitution will attract more investments in the country.
PSDA Chairperson Yusuf Dodia said that the dual citizenship would allow Zambians in the diaspora to come back and invest in the country.
“The inclusion of dual citizenship will allow Zambians who have obtained citizenship and invested in other countries to also invest in Zambia,” he said.
Mr Dodia was speaking in an interview in reaction to the new Constitution Bill which was recently assented to and includes the dual citizenship clause.
He said some Zambians in the diaspora had in the past failed to invest in the country due to limitations in the old constitution.
Meanwhile, Mr Dodia has said that 2015 was not a good year for the business community due to economic challenges the country had faced.
He said the cost of doing business last year was high due to increased electricity tariffs, Kwacha devaluation and power cuts.
Mr Dodia said this year would also not be a good one for business again due to the coming of general elections.
He urged the business community to take time to reflect on 2015 and see how they can make it this year.
