TENNANT Chilumba has said the acquisition of Conlyde Luchanga has added great quality to Power Dynamos’ strike force for this season.
And Power may be without midfielder Larry Bwalya who is reportedly moving abroad.
Chilumba in an interview in Kitwe yesterday, however, cautioned that Luchanga was still a work-in- progress.
“I have worked with the boy, I like his commitment and he is still learning. I think he will fit in and I am looking at helping the boy, he is still young but we won’t put him under pressure,” he said.
Chilumba said Luchanga, including the imminent arrival of Jimmy Nhdlovu from Nkana, has enhanced Power’s competitive level despite Zesco United and Zanaco snatching the prime cuts for their 2016 league and continental campaigns.
Luchanga, who won the 2015 Young Player of the Year, scored nine goals in his debut season with Lusaka Dynamos before moving to Power this year.
Meanwhile, Chilumba said he was still on the market for a midfielder despite the arrival of Laurent Muma from Forest Rangers who was previously with Power’s development team Young Power.
“I am still looking for a midfielder because I am told Larry Bwalya may not be with us, he could be heading to Israel,” Chilumba said.
Power finished third last season behind runners-up Zanaco and champions Zesco United on 57, 63 and 67 points respectively.
