THE Patriotic Front (PF) is committed to a zero-tolerance stance against violence and will not condone such acts within its ranks.
PF Copperbelt Province chairperson Steven Kainga said that there was need for political parties to co-exist to avoid violence.
Mr Kainga said in Lusaka yesterday during a Press briefing that violence in political parties should not be tolerated especially by the top leadership.
He added that this was the only way the vice could be stopped, especially during an election year.
“Yes, some of us are appearing in the courts of law, but it does not mean that we are violent. We don’t want violence and we do not want to tolerate it,” he said.
PF Lusaka Province chairperson Horace Longwe said that the party was flourishing in unity contrary to assertions that it was encountering divisions.
“We have unity in the party, which has made it possible for the PF to continue being strong because of the wise leadership of President Edgar Lungu. We promise peaceful campaigns for the 2016 tripartite elections,” he said.
