BUDDING star Conlyde Luchanga has joined Power Dynamos from Lusaka Dynamos on a two-year loan deal.
The deal was concluded yesterday at Cresta Hotel in Lusaka where Power managed to land the youngster whose initial deal to champions Zesco United failed after his club demanded US$10,000 which the Ndola side rejected.
However, the two clubs did not disclose how much the deal was worth with Dynamos chairperson Mofya Chisala, who chaired the meeting, saying the club was happy with the way the matter was handled.
Chisala said he was happy that a new home has been found for Luchanga and was confident the player is in good hands.
Power secretary Ricky Mamfunda said in an interview yesterday that the club was excited to bring the Zambia striker to Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
“Yes we have completed negotiations with Lusaka Dynamos for Conlyde’s services. He has joined us on a two-year loan and we are very happy with the reception we received from Lusaka Dynamos during our negotiations,” Mamfunda said.
Luchanga has been brought in to fill the massive void left by the prolific duo of Alex Ng’onga, who left in June to join CS Mounana of Gabon, and Jimmy Ndhlovu, who was recalled by Nkana in July.
The striker, who joined Dynamos in 2015 from Mazabuka United, scored nine goals in his debut MTN/FAZ Super League season and another two for the national team.
Luchanga joins the line of ex-Dynamos players who include Billy Mwanza, Alex Namazaba, Ronald Mukosha and Kalililo Kakonje.
Meanwhile, in Wednesday’s edition of Times of Zambia, it was erroneously reported that ‘banned midfielder Kondwani Mtonga had returned to Zesco United and will be on the sidelines until his suspension by FIFA is lifted.
The player in question is Justin Zulu and not Mtonga as was reported and we apologise for the mix up.
