ACTING President Alexander Chikwanda is today expected to lead mourners in paying their last respects to the late Zambia’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Miles Banda.
The requiem mass will be held at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross at 09:15hours where mourners are expected to be seated by 09:00 hours.
Mr Banda died in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday after an illness and would be put to rest at Leopards Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Lusaka.
Mr Chikwanda declared today as the day of national mourning in honour of Mr Banda.
Mr Banda, who died at the age of 80, once served in Government as deputy secretary to the Cabinet.
He was appointed into the foreign service in October, 2012.
He leaves behind a wife, eight children and several grandchildren.
